  • PBS' The History Detectives TV show encapsulated the totality of Chinese immigration in about 30 lines…This might be the best place to start to gain a quick overview of what the other resources on this page are talking about. There also is a short video describing the life of a Chinese immigrant.

  • The Library of Congress published "Chinese immigration to the United States, 1851-1900" as part of their series on the rise of industrial America. Included is a brief overview of Chinese immigration and a series of documents (box in right hand corner) that supports/expands that overview. Click on name of document to access.
